FAQ for Net Send Lite v3.02

Why do I keep getting the error message: Unable to start the Messenger service. Please check the Service module in the Windows Control Panel and ensure the service is not marked as 'disabled'.

The error message 'Unable to start the Messenger service. Please check the Service module in the Windows Control Panel and ensure the service is not marked as disabled.' comes from Net Send Lite when it tries to start the Messenger Service and does not have sufficient user rights.

The is that in v3.00 when Net Send Lite starts it tries to verify the Messenger Service is started. Then each time a message is sent, it tries to verify the Messenger Service is started. If the user logged in does not have "rights" to check and see if the Messenger Service is started (even if its started already), an error message occurs. Without the correct rights, when we check to verify if the Messenger Service is running, it returns NO. Then we try and start it.

FIX:
We have created a new v3.01 that addresses this issue. Please download the latest version of Net Send Lite to correct this issue you are seeing. If you are a registered user of Net Send Lite you can Upgrade here.
