FAQ for Message Manager Deluxe v3.03    Message Manager Deluxe

Question  How can I execute Message Manager Deluxe from a share on the server the user logged in to?

You can run Message Manager Deluxe from a share on the server the user logged in to using the %LOGONSERVER% environment variable. For example:

%LOGONSERVER%\netlogon\loadmsg.exe %LOGONSERVER%\netlogon\message.dat

The %LOGONSERVER% environment variable contains the domain controller the user authenticated into. If Message Manager Deluxe exists on that server, you can use the above command to launch it.

Please Note: The following environment variables are available to Microsoft Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 2003:

COMPUTERNAME

PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER

PROGRAMFILES
SYSTEMDRIVE
SYSTEMROOT
USERPROFILE
WINDIR
HOMEDRIVE

Only the WINDIR variable is available on Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows ME systems.
